Embracing Change Is The Key to Nonprofit Growth

I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts by Ramit Sethi the other day and there was a statement made that struck me.

That statement?

Most people (even if they are failing) are more comfortable with choosing the same thing over and over again as opposed to trying something new.

My answer? I agreed with it.

This probably described me years ago too, but I’ve done LOTS of work to actually embrace change. I’d say I thrive in it now. Change and evolution is what makes me a better person and run a stronger business. It’s been the key to my growth.

And this is exactly what frustrates me so often. People push against this!

Doing things differently and embracing change is the KEY TO GROWTH.

To be honest, I look for this exact characteristic in leaders who hop on my calendar to learn what it’s like to work with me. Sure, I’ll share about my work, my consultancy, and the results my clients get working with me.

But, I’m listening too.

I need to know the people I work with are open to doing things differently. I need to know they are open to change. They’re open to STOPPING doing things that never fully fund their organization. STOP doing things that are leaving 7-figures of revenue on the table.

I need to know that they are done doing the same thing over and over again, that leads to them never having enough unrestricted money to do what’s in their Strategic Plans.

It’s your day to choose something different. Don’t waste the crises of the last few years. Now’s the time to make your move.
