Nonprofit Donors Don’t Always Want Something In Return

Donors DON'T always want something in return for giving to your mission.

Case in point...and a true story….

Board Member:

“I’ll host a party for 10 corporate employees at a local restaurant…Their company will pay $15K for it. We’ll have a 3-course meal, then rent a van to all drive over to a concert together. We’ll return for dessert. The nonprofit will keep the profits (about 50% of the original $15K).”

Corporation:

“Can we just give you the $15K and not do all the hoopla?”

Not every fundraising idea should come to fruition. Don't make it harder than it needs to be.
