Nonprofit Leaders: What kind of decision maker are you?

Can I make one suggestion?

Be a decision maker.

Wasting years stressing over a decision about something that might impact your budget by 5% or could be easily course corrected if it didn’t work out…Constantly playing out scenarios in your head about what may or may not happen.

What lies beneath this indecisiveness?

Fear?

Fear of failure, fear of making the wrong call?

Fear of what the board will think?

My guess is that you’ve built a ship that can sail through most things. You’ll adapt and overcome like you did in 2020. Or, the decision might be the best thing ever!

I find that it's in decisions where progress truly happens.

What about you? What decision are you holding back from making that would help you grow? Are you waiting on your board? Hoping there's a surge in cash flow? Thinking next year you might be able to fit it into the budget? Anticipating getting that capacity building grant?

Just do it.
